Description

Whitewood Cottage is a hall house that has been converted into a cottage. It dates from the 16th century, with early 17th century and early 19th century elements, along with minor 20th century extensions and restorations. The building features a timber frame that is exposed, with brick nogging. It has a thatched roof that is half-hipped and includes eyebrow dormers. The layout follows a late medieval hall house plan. The north elevation is one storey with an attic and has an irregular arrangement of windows, consisting of one window on the first floor and four small casement windows on the ground floor. There are also two boarded doors.
