Description
Cranes Farmhouse is a two-storeyed timber frame house that dates from the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries. It features later cladding and additions. The front (south) elevation has three windows and a wing on the east side that extends forward. The roof is covered with red tiles and has half-hips. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, with cambered openings on the ground floor, and there is a rendered wing that dates from around 1900. The windows are modern casements, and there is a shallow brick porch. The timber frame is exposed on the west gable and also appears as the former rear wall inside the house, where diagonal square slots for timber mullions can be seen. The additions are built in a similar style but are taller.
