Description
Bramley Corner Lodge is a lodge for the drive entrance to Beaurepaire House, built around 1884-1885, possibly by Thomas Stopher of Winchester. The lodge is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a steeply-pitched hipped roof with pierced ridge-tiles and brick lateral stacks. The building has an irregular polygonal plan, with a porch at the front and a staggered rear wing that includes a glazed loggia on the back and an outshut on the south side.
The exterior is one storey with an attic and presents an asymmetrical west front. The left corner is canted and features an oriel window with a tiled canopy and a 2-light casement with small panes. The right side also has a canted corner with a similar oriel. The roof extends over the porch, which has a polygonal brick pier and a glazed door. There are two gabled dormers with ornate pierced bargeboards, spike finials, and casements with small panes. The north side of the lodge steps back to the rear wing on the left, while the roof at the back has a catslide over the loggia, which is supported by brick piers and now glazed. The rear also includes two gabled dormers with ornate bargeboards, and there is a weatherboarded outshut on the south side. The interior has not been inspected.
