Description
The Gables is a pair of estate cottages from the 1870s or 1880s, located in Bramley. They are built of Flemish bond red brick with some burnt headers and feature a clay plain tile roof with gabled ends, deep verges, and eaves. The cottages originally had entrances at either end but were converted into one house in the 20th century, with extensions added at the rear and both ends.
The exterior is one storey with an attic and presents a symmetrical three-window front facing southwest. The gabled center bay is advanced, with gabled dormers on the left and right that break the eaves. The ground floor has three oriel windows with tiled canopies and three-light iron casements featuring small panes, with the top panes having ogee heads. The attic has similar two-light casements. There is a 20th-century single-storey extension on the right end and an outshut on the left end. A 20th-century extension is also present at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
