Description

Blacksmiths Cottage is an early 19th-century building located in St Mary Bourne, Binley. It features a symmetrical front (south) with two storeys and three windows, with the central window set back. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, covered with slate. The walls are constructed of knapped flint work arranged in panels, accented with red brick dressings, including quoins, cambered arches, horizontal bands, and a plinth. The upper windows are casements, while the ground floor has large sash windows. There is a panelled door set in a plain opening. The rear of the cottage is also nearly symmetrical, and the ends are adorned with long flint panels.
