Description
The Church of St James, built in 1853, is a Grade II listed building located in Woodcott, Litchfield and Woodcott. It is a single cell structure featuring a south porch and a north vestry, designed in the Early English style. The church has single and coupled lancet windows, along with a traceried window at the east end. The roof is tiled, and there is a western bell turret above the gable. The walls are constructed of squared knapped flint with flush stone dressings, and the building includes cusped lights, a pointed archway leading to the porch, and diagonal buttresses at the corners, as well as one intermediate buttress. Inside, the furnishings are plain, with the reading desk and pulpit showcasing attached carvings of Flemish origin from the 17th century.
