Description
Crux Easton House dates to 1771. It is a tall, two-storeyed main block, with a two-level, two-storey extension to the north-east and a single-storey wing projecting westwards from the north-west corner. The roof is tiled, and the primary part of the building is stuccoed, with painted brickwork elsewhere, set on a plinth.
The west elevation, excluding the tile wing, is symmetrical, featuring a window arrangement of 0.2.0. A central section rises above the eaves, topped with a pediment broken by a tall arched recess, likely a staircase window. This recess has stone key and impost blocks, and small windows flank it on the ground floor. The south-west end is a half-hexagonal shape, with one sash window above three others. The north-east gable contains an arched recess displaying a clock face and the date 1771. The wings are plain; the north extension’s west face has one large arched sash window and a large panelled door. The main doorway has a moulded cornice and doorposts, panelled reveals, and a half-glazed door. A half-glazed modern porch has been added to the north end.
