Description

Malmsmead is an early and late 19th-century cottage located set back from the Basingstoke Road (B3046). It is composed of a single-storey and attic main body with a central forward unit that was raised at a later date. The cottage has tile roofing with gabled dormers that have sills level with the eaves. The walls are of red brick, with sections in English bond, Flemish and Monk bonds (featuring blue headers), and Flemish Garden Wall bond to the raised section. The older part of the cottage has cambered openings, and it features casement windows. A plain door is sheltered by a flat canopy.
