Description

Hackwood Farmhouse is a late 18th-century and 19th-century building. It has two storeys and an attic. The north front is symmetrical, with a layout of one window, then two, then one. The roof is tiled and hipped at the ends, with a gable, or steep pediment, over the slightly projecting central section; it has brick dentil eaves. The walls are red brick in Flemish bond, featuring rubbed flat arches above the ground-floor windows, a cambered head above the attic window, and stone sills. The windows are sash windows with 25 panes in each. A Victorian brick porch is located on the east side of the central section, featuring a tile roof, plain bargeboards, and a six-panelled door.
