Description
Apsley Farmhouse is a building from the 18th century that has been modernized. It originally featured a symmetrical facade on the east side with two storeys and an attic, originally having five windows, which has been altered to three. The house has been recently extended in a style that matches the original to the north and rear (west). It has a tiled roof and brick dentil eaves, along with three flat-roofed dormers that contain sash windows. The walls are constructed with blue headers and have flush red brick dressings, which indicate the change to fewer, wider windows. The openings are cambered, and there is a band at the first floor level. The north side includes a two-storeyed half-hexagonal bay with three windows, topped with a parapet that has ball finials. The entrance features a modern doorcase designed in a decorative Georgian style, complete with a cornice supported by brackets and a three-panelled door.
