Description
Southwood Farmhouse is an early 19th-century building with a symmetrical southeast front that features two storeys and an attic, along with three windows. The farmhouse has a tile roof with two hipped-roofed dormers and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, which includes a first-floor band, rubbed flat arches, and a plinth. The upper floors have casement windows, while the ground floor boasts wide sash windows. The doorway is framed by a moulded architrave that surrounds a decorative fanlight and a modern glazed door.
To the north side of the farmhouse, there is a lower two-storeyed wing, and to the south side, a later one-storeyed wing that serves as a dairy. The northwest elevation consists of three storeys and an attic, featuring one window on each floor, similar architectural details, and a projecting centre that has an Edwardian porch at its base.
