Description
Deane House is a building that dates from the 17th century and 18th century, with some modern alterations. The main front, facing south, features a layout of two windows, one window, and two windows, with a west wing that projects forward by one bay. The roof is covered with ripped tiles. The walls are made of red brick in a mixed bond, with a parapet and a rendered cill band at the first floor that continues through the architraves of the openings. There is a high plinth at the cill level and rendered architraves. On the ground floor, there are later red brick surrounds above the doorway in the projecting two-storey modern porch. The dormer windows are small with cambered heads and casements, while the other windows have sashes in exposed frames. The stone doorcase features a cornice, console brackets, an eared architrave, a fanlight, and double doors. The east elevation has five similar bays, and extending eastward from its north end is a modern five-bay wing that is taller but maintains a similar design. Inside, there is panelling and a staircase, along with some lead rainwater heads and pipes.
