Description
Ashe House is a late 18th century to early 19th century building located in Overton. The symmetrical front, facing east, features two storeys with a total of five windows arranged as 2-1-2. It has a hipped tile roof and is constructed from red brick in Flemish bond, with a coping along the parapet. The building includes a moulded cornice with small modillions and a raised pediment above the slightly projecting centrepiece. The windows have rubbed flat arches and stone cills, and the sashes are set in reveals.
The wide arched doorway is notable for its radiating fanlight and a dentilled band above the side panels, which enclose panelled double doors. This doorway is framed by an open pediment of later date, consisting of a cornice with 'frieze' blocks above fluted pilasters that have moulded caps and bases. On the south side, the walling is splayed at the corner for one window. There are later additions at the rear of the building. Additionally, there are two entrances flanked by brick piers, each capped with moulded stone cornices.
