Description

This barn, located approximately 20 meters north of Wigmore Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century with some 20th-century alterations. It features a timber-framed structure with weatherboarded walls and a corrugated iron roof that is gabled at the east end and hipped at the aisled west end. A large 20th-century porch is situated on the north side, topped with a gabled plain tile roof. The barn consists of three bays, with the porch occupying the central bay. Inside, it has a queen post roof supported by heavy arch braces between the wall-posts and tie-beams, along with heavy concave wind braces. There is also evidence of reused timbers in certain areas.
