Description
Egbury House is a Grade II listed building dating from 1778. It features a symmetrical front (south) with two storeys and an attic, comprising five windows. The roof has brick modillion eaves and three hipped roofed dormers with sash windows. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches that suggest the ground floor openings were widened later, and there is a plinth at the base. The sashes are set in reveals. The entrance has a Doric pilastered doorcase with a denticular cornice and an open pediment that contains an arched opening, topped by a radiating fanlight above a six-panelled door. There are later extensions at the rear and small detached outbuildings constructed from tile, flint, and brickwork. A dated terracotta plaque is located on the east gable.
