Description
Hempstead Mill, formerly known as the former mill house, is an 18th-century mill house that has undergone significant alterations. It is two storeys high with an attic in the gable ends and features four windows. The ground floor is constructed of painted brick, while the upper level is tile-hung. The building has a tiled roof with two brick chimneystacks.
There is a doorway on the south wall that has a cornice supported by brackets, a semi-circular fanlight, and a door with six fielded panels. Another doorway is located at the north end, framed by an architrave surround and topped with a pediment, also featuring a door with six fielded panels. Additionally, there is a late 20th-century rendered lean-to extension that includes a tiled roof, casement windows, buttresses, and a gabled porch.
