Description
Numbers 18, 19, and 19A on Lewes Road is an industrial building that has been converted into two cottages and a light industrial workshop. It is dated 1819 on a stone plaque at the front, which features the initials J K. There is a one-bay extension to the right, likely built in the late 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the upper floors are tile-hung. The building has a hipped roof that has been renewed with tiles and features a brick chimneystack.
The structure stands three storeys tall and includes four windows and one window space. The windows consist of either wooden casements or Yorkshire sashes, set in cambered openings on the ground floor. Access to the first floor is via wooden steps leading to a large door. The ground floor features two cambered doorcases leading to the cottages, one 20th-century window, a wide industrial door, and a large window on the left side that is also of 20th-century origin. The later 19th-century extension is two storeys high, with a brick ground floor, tile-hung first floor, and a sloping tiled roof.
