Description

The Iden War Memorial is a war memorial unveiled in 1922. It is made of granite and features a cross, shaft, and plinth with metal lettering. The base of the memorial is octagonal and has three steps leading up to the octagonal plinth. The plinth bears the inscriptions ‘THESE MEN OF IDEN GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914 – 1918’ and ‘1939 – 1945’, along with the names of the deceased on its sides. A rectangular shaft rises from the plinth to support a wheel cross.
