Description
Apple Yard Cottage is a house, possibly once two cottages, likely built in the early 19th century and extended to the right in the mid-19th century. The building was refenestrated in the 20th century. It has a timber frame, covered in weatherboarding, sitting on a brick plinth. The roof is tiled and features end brick chimneystacks, along with an additional chimneystack in the rear extension. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows, which are 20th-century casements. There are two doorcases with flat hoods supported by brackets, leading to 20th-century half-glazed doors. The ground floor displays an exposed frame. Historical maps, including the John Adams Survey of Northiam from 1821 and the Tithe Map of 1842, outline a building on this site.
