The Lodge is dated 1835 over the doorway. Tudor Gothic building with the plan of a cross. Sandstone ashlar. 2 storeys 3 windowsfacing south, 1 window facing east. Gable to each wing, the east and west ones with kneelers. Tiled roof. The first floor windows are 2-light casements with stone mullions and dripstones over. The ground floor windows are bays with 2 tiers of 4 lights with stone mullions and transoms. The south wing consists of a porch having a four-centred archway with dripstone over and a room on the first floor above. Cartouche with the Ashburnham Arms in the gable. On the north side there are ground floor rooms in the angle of the cross plan with hipped roofs. Two stone chimney breasts to each with 2 octagonal brick shafts. To the south of the Lodge is a gateway to the carriage drive of the Park with a pedestrian gateway on each side of it. Each is flanked by octagonal sandstone piers with pointed caps, those flanking the carriage drive being higher than the others. All 3 have iron gates. To the south of the south pedestrian gate the wall is continued at the same height as above the gateway as far as the road.
