Description

Cleveland Cottage is a 17th-century building located on the east side of Friars Road in Winchelsea. It is two storeys high and features two windows. The exterior is weather-boarded and topped with a slate roof. The cottage has casement windows with small square panes and includes a trellised wooden porch. A plaque on the building notes that the poet and author Ford Maddox Ford, who lived from 1873 to 1939, resided here.
