Description

The Ruins of the Church of Grey Friars Monastery are located in the grounds of Grey Friars in Winchelsea. This scheduled Ancient Monument features the remains of the chancel of the church, which was built in the Decorated style around 1310 to 1320. The chancel consists of four bays, with a half-hexagonal east end that has three bays. Notable architectural elements include a fine pointed chancel arch at the west end and a window that retains some tracery. Additionally, there is a turret at the southwest angle.
