Description

Nos. 6 to 9 Watchbell Street are a row of houses, likely dating back to the 17th century or earlier, although they have been refronted at a later date. Nos. 6 and 7 have a brick ground floor and tiled upper floors, arranged over three storeys, with one window and one gable each. They feature modern casement windows and tiled roofs, and each doorway has a hood. Inside No. 7 are 16th-century beams and old framing visible in the side walls. Nos. 8 and 9 have an old brick ground floor and imitation timber framing above, with No. 8 displaying a gable and No. 9 a flat hood over the door. The buildings form a group with Nos. 10 to 16, The Studio Chambers, and The Old Hope, Anchor Private Hotel.
