Description

Abbot's Cottage is a 14th-century timber-framed building that has been refaced with painted brick on the ground floor and tile-hung above. It features a tiled roof and has modern shop windows, with a total of four windows across two storeys. The building includes a crown-post roof, partly dating from the 14th century. Notably, John Hammond, the last Abbot of Battle, lived here for eight years after the Dissolution and passed away in this residence.
