Description

The Ringmer War Memorial, built around 1920 by D Kibbler, is made of St Aldhelm Box Ground stone and features a medieval-style wheel cross. It stands on a slim tapering pillar, which is set on a square plinth and an octagonal base with four steps. Surrounding the memorial is a ring of eight low stone piers connected by simple chains, and it is situated on the village green.

The concave front and back faces of the top step are inscribed with dedications, while the plinth bears the names of those who fell. The front face reads "OUR GLORIOUS DEAD," and the back face states "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE."
