Description

This is a Church of England parish church located in Ringmer. The chancel with its north and south chapels, the nave (excluding the westernmost bay), and the south porch date from the 15th century. The north and south chapels were built in the early 16th century. The westernmost bay of the nave and the west tower were rebuilt in 1884. This reconstruction, paid for by William Langham Cristie of Glyndebourne, replaced a medieval tower that had been destroyed by fire in the 15th century. The architect for the 1884 rebuilding was Ewan Christian. A gallery and organ were added in 1922, gifted by John Christie of Glyndebourne.
