Description

Nos 67 and 68 on High Street are a 17th century building that was refronted in the early 19th century and is finished in stucco. The structure has two storeys and an attic. On the ground floor, No 67 features a modern splayed bay and door with a hood, while No 68 has a Victorian shop front with a projecting fascia, elliptical arch lights over the windows, and a recessed doorway on the right. The first floor has two segmental bowed windows with three sashes and glazing bars; however, No 67's window is a poor modern reproduction. There are three attic dormers, and the building has a steep-pitched tile roof with gable ends and brick chimney stacks. There is a side entrance to No 68 with a reeded doorcase that includes a cornice and a fielded panel door. Inside, the building features stop-chamfered ceiling beams. At the rear of No 68, there is a wing that has a brick-faced timber frame and an open timber roof with an octagonal king-post. All the listed buildings on High Street up to and including No 118 form a group.
