Description
Borough House is an 18th-century building located on Borough Lane in the Old Town. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring five windows and one blocked window space. The exterior is made of red brick arranged alternately with grey headers, and it includes brick relieving arches. At the south end of the front, there is a buttress from an earlier building made of sandstone, cobbles, brick, and grey headers. The roof is covered with red tiles and has two dormers with hipped gables that contain casement windows. The building has an eaves cornice, and the stringcourse and keystones have been renewed in wood. The glazing bars are missing, and there is a flat hood over the doorway, which features a six-panel moulded door. The south end of the building is hung with tiles.
