Description
The Old Parsonage, now known as the Parish Hall, is a building that dates back to the early 16th century. Originally constructed as the Rectory Manor House, it features a hall with a buttery and pantry at the north end, and a solar at the south end, along with four rooms above. The building has two storeys and an attic, with five windows. Its walls are made of flint and rubble, accented by stone frames around the doors and windows. The roof is covered with red tiles, and there is a large projecting chimney breast at the center of the east side, which includes a sizable fireplace with a carved stone mantel shelf. The building has pointed arched doorways and square-headed windows with stone mullions. The ground floor windows on the east side also feature transoms, with three lights above and below, and dripstones above them. Inside, there are timber and plaster partitions separating the hall from the rooms at each end.
