Description

Sandford Mill is an 18th-century water mill, currently used for storage. It has a timber frame and is clad in painted weatherboarding, with a half-hipped roof covered in old tiles. The building is two storeys high with an attic, featuring two gabled dormers with high fixed windows on the west front. The west front also has two 20th-century windows flanking a central door to a loft, above a stable door. The north front exhibits irregular attic and first-floor windows, and a one-story projection to the left, constructed of similar materials. The interior retains numerous exposed heavy timbers. The mill is described in the Buildings of England: Berkshire, page 311.
