Description

The buildings at 22 to 32 Adelaide Square date to around 1835 to 1840. They share a design with the adjacent numbers 1 to 29, although these buildings lack the pediments found on those properties. The row is oriented at right angles to the road and is constructed of stock brick with two storeys. A shallow frieze, moulded cornice, and blocking course are applied in stucco. Each building has two windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The sash windows retain their original glazing bars. The ground floor sashes are round-headed. The doorways are similar to those on numbers 1 to 29, with fanlights featuring a central double circle decorated with rosettes and interlaced scrolls on either side. Numbers 1 to 29 (odd), numbers 4 and 6, and numbers 18 to 32 (even) are considered a group.
