Description
The Tithe Barn, originally known as The Great Barn at Bisham Grange, is a large aisled barn that has been converted into part of a house. It dates from the late 15th century and underwent alterations in the late 20th century. The structure features a timber frame with chalk and stone walls and an old tile roof that is both hipped and gabled. It has a rectangular plan consisting of seven bays and two lean-to framed bays, with aisles on each side. On the northeast side, there is a midstrey that includes a dovecote in the gable. The southwest gable front has three rooflights in the hipped roof and a three-light window at ground-floor level, which is complemented by horizontal boarding underneath. Inside, the barn showcases heavy square section timbers, queen post roof trusses, straight braces, and posts.
