Description
The Tea House, located to the south of Frogmore House in Frogmore Grounds, dates from around 1860. It consists of two pavilions: one oblong with rounded corners and the other smaller and octagonal, set back from the first. These pavilions are linked by a curved tiled roof verandah, with the roofs extending down to create verandahs all around, supported by wooden posts that have a distinctive Japanese style. The pavilions feature shaped tiles and prominent ridge tiles, along with very tall grouped brick Tudor chimneys. Inside the oblong pavilion, there is trellis wallpaper and a ceiling painted to resemble the sky with birds. The smaller pavilion serves as a kitchen and includes a range. Both pavilions have sash windows and two glazed doors.
