Description
Golf Cottage, built around 1840, was originally constructed as kennels and has since been enlarged. The building features a Tudor style with bargeboards and is two stories high, built in stock brick with an L-shaped plan. The projecting west front includes a timber-framed gabled first floor adorned with elaborate bargeboards and a similarly gabled half dormer on the right. On the ground floor, there is a canted hipped roof bay window to the left and a verandah porch that returns to the south. The windows are sash with leaded glazing in a diamond and lozenge pattern. The north front is similar to the west front, and there is a string course carved as a drop mould over the ground floor windows. The roof is tiled and features tall grouped chimneys. To the east, there is a low former kennel wing. The overall appearance of the cottage is picturesque.
