Description
The dovecote, located approximately 68 metres south west of Bisham Abbey, dates back to the 15th century. It is constructed from chalk and flint, featuring slip tiles and a brick buttress, topped with an old tile conical roof. The dovecote has a circular plan and is supported by four two-stage buttresses. It includes a flint plinth, a moulded stone string, and closed eaves, along with four small open gabled dormers. At the center, there is an ogee roof adorned with a ball and finial. The entrance door on the south-east side is very small and planked.
Inside, the dovecote contains nearly continuous nesting boxes, a revolving ladder on a large newel post, and a fine framed timber roof, although some timbers have been replaced.
