Description
Malthouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with a re-facing and an added wing from the 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and timber framing with brick nogging, which is visible on the first floor on the north-west side. It features tension braces, pilaster strips, and a plat band. The farmhouse has a dentil brick cornice beneath a tile-hung gable that includes a casement window on the south-east side, as well as a tile-hung gable with a casement window on the north-west side. The roof is covered with old tiles and there are two stacks. The layout is L-shaped, with two framed bays on the south-west side. The farmhouse stands two storeys high with garrets. On the south-east front, there are segmental-headed casements beneath the gable on the left, with three on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The wing to the right has one casement on each floor, with the ground floor window having a segmental head. The entrance is located at the rear.
