Description
Elmore House is an 18th-century house with 19th-century additions, likely a re-fronting of an earlier structure. It is built of brick and features an old tile hipped roof with two chimneys. The house has two storeys and an attic, with five bays and three dormers that have triangular pediments. There are two-storey, three-bay additions set back on both the right and left sides. The windows are glazing bar sashes, and there is a string course between the floors. The central entrance has a panelled door and a 20th-century rustic hipped porch, which includes small 20th-century windows on either side. The addition on the left has a central door, segmental-headed ground floor windows, a brick cornice, and two stacks. Inside, there is an 18th-century panelled front room on the ground floor, which may have an earlier moulded ceiling beneath the existing one. Additionally, there is a safe set into the wall in the corridor.
