Description

This is a house, comprising a 18th-century south-east block and an earlier 18th-century north-west block. The south-east front, built in the late 18th century, is constructed of grey brick with a hipped slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with sash windows retaining glazing bars. Two bays on the left have blank windows. The right-hand side features a door with a decorative surround of fluted pilasters and brackets supporting a flat hood, along with a depressed arch fanlight with Gothic tracery. Deep eaves are a defining feature. The south-west front of this block has two bays, with ground-floor windows having blind hoods. The north-west block, dating from the early 18th century, is timber-framed and tile-hung, with a hipped old tile roof, and two stacks to the north. Its south-west front is two storeys high and has three bays, including a central gabled porch with tripartite sash windows to the left and paired sashes to the right. A central arched sash window is located on the first floor, flanked by paired sashes to the left and right. All first-floor sashes have glazing bars. Later 18th-century service blocks are located to the north. Inside, a double-height, oval entrance hall contains a staircase.
