Description

Speen Manor is a house dating to the late 18th century, with later additions. It appears to have a masonry core faced with mathematical tiles, and has a tiled roof punctuated by four chimney stacks. The house is in a T-shaped plan, comprising two bays to the left and a hipped cross wing projecting to the right. The windows are mainly glazing bar sashes, with a wooden dentil eaves cornice. A doorway is located to the right, featuring a panelled door set within a doorcase of fluted Doric pilasters and an applied architrave supporting a triangular pediment. The cross wing has a chimney breast and single windows on each storey of its return wall. The east front features a central hipped canted bay. Inside, a ground floor room with a canted bay to the west contains a doorcase with fluted pilasters, an applied architrave, and a dentil cornice.
