Description
The Grange is a house located in Yattendon, dating from the early 18th century, with a date of 1702 noted on the stack. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers and features a brick plat band. The roof is covered with old tiles and has three gabled dormers, each with 2-light leaded casements. There is an end stack to the right and a ridge stack that is off-centre to the left. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a total of seven bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes with exposed wooden boxes, and the third bay from the left is blank. The central entrance features a half-glazed door with a radial fanlight above, framed by a doorcase that has fluted Corinthian pilasters and paterae above, supporting an open triangular pediment. There is a Sun Insurance plate to the left of the central first-floor window. A reused doorcase was added after 1929.
