Description

Northridge is a house dating to around 1890. It is built of red brick with some gauged window heads, planted timbers to the first floor, and a tile roof. The building has an irregular plan and decorative barge boards, along with four chimney stacks featuring pilaster shafting.

The main entrance is a half-glazed door with a segmental head and hoodmould, located to the left. An oval window is positioned off-centre to the left on the ground floor. Above this window is a large segmental gauged brick arch which corbels to support a square bay and a semi-dormer containing two cross windows, topped with a hipped roof and a gablet.

A projecting gabled wing is set off-centre to the right, featuring a ground floor canted bay and a first floor supported by corner brackets, above which sits a canted oriel window. An octagonal corner turret to the right incorporates a mullioned and transomed ground floor window, a first-floor verandah with a wooden balustrade and a recessed glazed door, and a pyramidal roof with a lead finial.

Northridge is part of a group of houses sometimes referred to as 'The Seven Deadly Sins' and is included on the list for its group value.
