Description
Bockhampton Middle Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century with an 18th-century extension. It is two storeys high, constructed of colourwashed brick and render on a timber frame. The 18th-century wing on the left projects forward and has a hipped roof. The building features an old tile roof with a flanking chimney to the right and two ridge chimneys, one centrally located and the other at the junction with the later wing.
On the south-east elevation, there are four irregular casement windows, one of which is leaded with an iron-framed opening light on the first floor. The ground floor has four irregular windows, including one vertical sliding sash and three casements. The entrance door is set in a simple doorcase on the return of the projecting wing.
Internally, the 16th-century portion has two long and two short structural bays framed in timber. There are two large brick chimneys that show signs of large fireplace beams on both the ground and first floors. The framing includes square sections with windbraces.
