Description
Plumtree Cottage is a 16th or 17th-century cottage located in North Heath, Winterbourne. It is timber-framed with brick nogging and has a half-hipped tile roof. A brick stack is situated on the ridge to the left, and there is one gabled dormer window. The cottage has one and a half storeys and two framed bays. There are two casement windows to the left of the central door. A 20th-century, one and a half to two-storey brick addition of no particular interest has been added to the left side. Traditionally, the cottage is associated with Cromwell's encampment prior to the Battle of Newbury.
