Description

This is a row of cottages dating to the 17th century, located on the north side of Chapel Street in Thatcham. The cottages are timber-framed and have been rendered, with a thatched roof that is hipped to the left. There are three ridge stacks, one to the left, one central, and another slightly off-centre to the right. Five eyebrow dormers are visible, along with a gabled dormer to the left. The cottages have a 1 1/2 storey height and feature seven framed bays. The windows are 20th-century casements. There are four 20th-century doors: one to the far left, one between the first and second windows from the left, one between the fourth and fifth windows from the left, and one between the sixth and seventh windows from the left. Number 72, the rightmost cottage, has curved braces.
