Description
Geddes Warehouse, dated 1866, is a six-storey building located on Town Quay. It is constructed of red brick, featuring paler red brick window dressings and yellow brick long and short quoins. The roof is currently covered with corrugated iron sheeting. The building has two gables, which originally had hoists but are now blocked up. There are ten windows in total, consisting mainly of fixed metal casements with cambered architraves. The end elevation includes two windows and an inscription in the gable end that reads "1866, D. Geddes, Surveyor - H.W. Bull, Builder." This warehouse is one of the few remaining old warehouses in Southampton, and part of the medieval city wall of Southampton runs through the south wall.
