Description

The Weigh House is a medieval building dating from the mid-13th century to the mid-15th century, likely originally used to house the king's weigh beam. It is mentioned in 1454 as the Paysage House of the Earl of Warwick. The structure is a single-storey stone building featuring a 13th-century window in the north wall, which has two trefoiled lights and a quatrefoiled circle in the stonework between their heads. There is also a blocked 13th-century doorway in the east wall and a four-centred 15th-century doorway facing French Street. The Weigh House is scheduled as an ancient monument.
