Description
A three-storey building of 1846, designed by T. S. Hack in an Italianate style and originally used by the Southampton University Air Squadron. The ground floor is stuccoed and rusticated. The slate roof has a wide, paired, bracketed eaves cornice. The front facade has five windows, with a band of guilloche moulding across the second floor and Corinthian pilasters with stuccoed shell ornaments above the arches of the first-floor windows. A projecting five-bay Tuscan colonnade extends across the front of the building, accessible via four steps from the street. The rear elevation is faced with Devonshire slates.
