Description

This is a group of four almshouses located at 2, 4, 6, and 8 St Mary's Road, Slough. They date to 1617, as indicated by a stone plaque on the central section. The buildings are constructed of red brick, with a cement-rendered porch, window dressings, and quoins. The roof is covered with old tiles.

The north front features a plat band and four gabled eaves dormers, each with a two-light diamond-pane window. A central ridge stack rises from the roof, featuring four diamond shafts. A two-story, projecting gabled porch is centrally located. The porch's first floor has a two-light diamond-leaded casement window. The ground floor of the porch contains a round-arched entrance with two boarded doors to the left and right. Four ground floor windows, each with a two-light diamond-leaded casement and a boarded door, are situated between the first and second, and third and fourth almshouses. These windows have four-centred arched heads, raised brick architraves, and triangular pediments.

The almshouses were founded by Sir John Kederminster.
