Description

This is a row of late 18th century houses with a central carriageway. The houses have been altered over time and are built of rendered brick with a parapet to the front. They have a half-hipped mansard roof covered in old tile, incorporating five modern dormers. Each house originally had two windows on each floor, although the window types vary; most are casements, with some modern replacements.

Badminton House retains a single sash window on the first floor with glazing bars and a three-light bay window with glazing bars on the ground floor. The Post Office features a modern shop window. The house to the left of the Post Office has a tripartite sash window with glazing bars on the first floor, and a smaller window with a moulded architrave above the carriageway. All three houses have simple bracket hoods over their doors. Hampton House has a plain doorway. The carriageway features a timber-framed party wall belonging to the Post Office.

The houses are double-pile, with the rear walls weatherboarded. Hampton House incorporates a long two-storey extension.
