Description
Colne Cottage is an early 18th-century building that was altered around 1850. It is constructed of stucco and has a hipped roof covered with old tiles, featuring a modillion cornice. The cottage is two storeys high and includes a plinth and a narrow pilaster on the left side. There are three sash windows, with reveals and cills. The ground-floor windows lack glazing bars but have 19th-century cornices supported by consoles and cast-iron window guards; the central first-floor window has a panel. A stucco-pointed doorway is located to the right, with a panelled door and a ramped-up parapet topped with ball finials. A three-window return features a bay window on the ground floor to the right. A north-facing wing is weatherboarded and has two half-dormers with Y glazing and leaded casements, plus a further window to the right. To the north-east is a timber-framed 17th-century wing.
